Borrowing Policies and Overdue Charges

Borrowers must present a valid Nioga library card to check out materials or to use a computer.

Borrower’s cards are issued to residents of Genesee, Orleans, and Niagara counties and to those employed or attending school in LeRoy.  Library cards are issued with proper identification: picture ID with name and current address. If picture ID is not available, two documents with name and current address are required, along with picture ID.

There is no charge to apply for the initial library card.

Fines must be cleared before replacement cards are issued. Fees for lost cards are $1.00 for replacement cards.

Non-resident cards are available for a fee of $40 per year. Paid cards entitle non-resident patrons to receive the same services and benefits that are available to residents for a period of one year. Renewals for purchased non-resident cards will be one year from the date the card was issued or previously renewed. To renew a purchased non-resident card the patron must not have an outstanding balance on the current card.

A parent or guardian must sign for borrowers under the age of 14 years.

Borrower’s cards will be issued to people residing at a campground in Genesee County. A campground agreement or lease with a current date must be shown at the time the card is issued. Picture ID with name and permanent address must also be shown.
