Woodward Library 1930

Library History

The Woodward Memorial Library opened on May 29, 1930, as a gift from the five Woodward children in memory of their parents. Built on the site of a former university conservatory, the library was LeRoy's first free public library. The neo-classical building included an original endowment that continues to support library operations.
